Canadian pulses have grown in both volume and value in the global pulse trade over the last decade. Currently Canadian pulse exports represent approximately 35 per cent of the global pulse trade, and out of that, Saskatchewan pulses make up 90 per cent of what Canada exports annually.

Canada’s pulse industry meets the needs of over 150 markets around the globe. Over the past 20 years, Canada has emerged as the world’s largest exporter of lentils and peas and one of the world’s top five exporters of beans.
