Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) is a development board for the innovative and growing pulse crop industry. Accountable to and funded by the over 15,000 pulse growers in the province, we provide leadership and work to create opportunities for profitable growth of the Saskatchewan pulse industry by investing in research, market development, communications, and agronomy extension.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Administrative Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support, including reception and office administration, as well as support to senior leadership and the Board of Directors. This is a full-time position however part-time and/or flexible working arrangements are available.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Reception and General Administration:
- Field incoming phone calls, emails, receiving visitors, and deliveries to the office.
- Provide office orientation to new employees.
- Maintain office supplies, ensure functioning of office equipment, and maintain inventory of office equipment.
- Liaise with external contacts including maintenance, file storage, IT support, landlord, shipping and couriers, and other suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the office
- Administrative support to Executive Director and Board of Directors:
- Assist with Executive Director and Board meeting arrangements, travel arrangements, correspondence, expense claim preparation, and related duties.
- Record minutes of board meetings and most Board committee meetings.
- Preparation of board and committee meeting material and updating organization documents as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience in a diverse range of administrative responsibilities
- Experience providing administrative support to senior leaders and Boards of Directors an asset
- Relevant post-secondary education or training
- Highly organized, proactive professional with ability to manage many responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience dealing with confidential topics and information
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
- High degree of professionalism, tact, and judgement
