SCIC Announces Changes to the 2021 Crop Insurance Program

The base grade for large-seeded Kabuli chickpeas was updated to reflect current Saskatchewan production and marketing patterns.
The Crop Insurance enhancements introduced in the 2021 year will continue to build on previous program enhancements. Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation is pleased to announce the following program changes for the 2021 season:
- Updated base grade for large-seeded Kabuli chickpeas to reflect current production and marketing patterns.
- This update increases the insured price and quality coverage.
- The new weighting of sizes within the base grade includes:
- 60 per cent - 9mm #2
- 30 per cent - 8mm #2
- 10 per cent - 7mm Sample account green max 5 per cent
