Objective
To develop very short season herbicide tolerant soybean varieties adapted to the Canadian prairies.
Outcome
Twelve new populations were developed and advanced in Ottawa. Populations and progeny rows were grown and selected for adaptation in Saskatoon and Morden. Genotyping, at maturity loci, was completed for 20 potential parental lines using the Maturity Diagnostic Toolbox. The Canadian Field Crop Genetics Improvement Cluster was a collaboration between the Canadian Field Crop Research Alliance (CFCRA) and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). Funding for this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Growing Forward 2 (GF2) AgriInnovation Program.
