To evaluate the importance of the presence of saponins in Canadian varieties and to thoroughly study the effect of peas on feed intake and feeding behaviour in pigs.
Saponins varied among the pea cultivars and the inclusion of 40% peas in the diets for growing pigs had no effect on feed intake on feeding behaviours.
