Objective
To evaluate the effects of individual components of field pea in yearling beef heifer diets on feedlot performance carcass traits and muscles in the carcass.
Outcome
Although the expected results of increasing beef tenderness through feeding field pea components was not observed, field peas make an excellent feedstuff for finishing diets for feedlot cattle and do not have any adverse effects on performance or meat quality.
