It is important for SPG and farmers to have an investor mindset when approaching new breeding partnerships. When investing grower dollars into breeding, SPG must see a return on investment. Rather than being a granting organization of funds, SPG will guide plant breeding efforts into traits, and see a return in two ways – a return back to growers with better genetics more quickly, and for dollars to flow back for further investment into breeding and other priority areas that SPG supports.
