Research Objective
Disease pressure was low, and the recorded leaf and root disease ratings were not analyzed statistically. Overall, differences in disease ratings between treatments were small.
Seed treatment use affected emergence and yield, but seaweed extract foliar biostimulants did not. The highest plant emergence and yields were both from treatments using Apron® Advance either alone or with the Heads Up® biological seed treatment, followed by the biological seed treatment alone, and lastly the lowest on plots with no seed treatments.
At individual sites, the highest yielding treatment differed. The highest-yielding treatment at Swift Current was seed treated with Apron® Advance plus the biological seed treatment, with an early application of foliar biostimulant. At Hodgeville, the highest-yielding treatment was seed treated with Apron® Advance and a dual application of the foliar biostimulant.
