To increase biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) in pea, which lowers GHG emissions and facilitates higher protein-yield for the plant-based protein markets; to increase root health in pea to support higher BNF through Rhizobium nodulation, lower GHG emissions and increased C sequestration in crop residues and soil; to improve protein concentration, quality, and functionality in pea; to increase the resilience of pea cultivars through improved heat/drought tolerance and disease resistance.
